Our environmental chamber services are designed to help you prepare for exercise in extreme environments. Athletes have traditionally used our chambers in preparation for an event to establish their tolerance and to assist in the acclimation to the heat or altitude. We offer single sessions as well as discounts for block bookings.
Heat acclimation training is the artificial exposure to heat during exercise. Training in the heat increases body (core and skin) temperature, induces profuse sweating, and increases skin blood flow. All of these responses stimulate physiological adaptations, which improves an individual’s tolerance to exercise in the heat and reduces the risk of heat illness. Heat acclimation training is performed by individuals preparing for an event in a warmer climate (e.g., Marathon Des Sables). It involves performing endurance exercise (running, cycling etc.) for extended periods (~60 minutes) at intensities between 50-70% VO2max.
Each Session (60 minutes) and can be purchased individually or in blocks (discount provided for block bookings).

Altitude or hypoxic exercise sessions within our simulated altitude chamber will allow you to exercise at various altitudes of up to 2350 m (15.7%) in a controlled environment. Undertaking such sessions will help an individual prepare for an event/competition/expedition at altitude and/or provide an additional exercise stressor to your training programme.
Each Session (60 minutes) and can be purchased individually or in blocks (discount provided for block bookings).
